Day 78 – 82: Grand Teton National Park

Day 1
Drove to Jenny lake for a quick 10 mile hike up to a waterfall, then drove up to signal mountain summit – dramatic view of storm over Tetons. On the way back stopped at carefully renovated little chapel from 1925, still in use for Sunday services. Ended the day with dinner and a campfire
Day 2
Day was cold and rainy, so drove to Colter Bay village at North end of park. Along the way stopped at an abandoned Mormon community from the turn of the century, that is currently being renovated, also on the way saw a Moose and his wife who looked amazed to find people where he wanted to go. Both finally legged it back into the trees. Rain set in and clouds low so no views on way back – Mary & Bob headed into Jackson Hole
Day 3
Gorgeous weather, sunny, warm and blue sky with puffy clouds. Headed north again to catch all the views we’d missed yesterday. Took more pics of yesterday’s chapel against the mountains. Stopped at Snake river to find 2 mounted cowboys being filmed for something top secret. After supper headed out to see the sunset and to look for moose at a popular sighting spot. We’re not disappointed by both.
