Day #5 – Shenandoah National Park

Day 5 started really at crack of dawn this time, as we set the alarms for 5:45 and watched the sun rise over the beautiful Shenandoah National Park. There were 3 cars of people watching, and one of the other 2 was from Rochester! Such a small world, but enough…really. Hitched up the campers in a light drizzle, then headed to the dump station to take our first ever dump. It was pouring with rain, but nothing deterred Bob and his trusty umbrella as he wielded stinky slinky and water hose. Job done, rookies for the win!

On to Roanoke, we drove out of the rain into beautiful sunshine. Looking forward to camping at a brewery/distillery, life is good. Unfortunately it is Easter Day and brewery is closed, but we are installed in our spots with electric hookups (ac = on) and free run of the little patio. Also, the brewery is located next to a working railroad and the campers are 20’ from the trains, and there’s a homeless guy wandering around …. the adventures never end.

Your description of Bob emptying the “Shitter” made me think of Cousin Eddie in Christmas Vacation. Was Bob wearing a robe and trapper hat? 😂
