Day #19 – Big Bend National Park

We did 2 hikes in Big Bend today. The first was to Mule Ear Spring. Back in the day before maps, people relied on visual references for traveling. The rocky outcrops looking like Mule Ears was one of them.

The second hike was done on the Rio Grande. It was amazing! We started the hike on the American side while enjoying full views of the Mexican side.

  1. We think alike. I also did the Mule Ears trail and then visited Santa Elena canyon. I was able to cross into Mexico by crossing where there was very little water and look up a steep Canyon wall. No passport required. Your pictures are awesome and helping me remember how much I enjoyed visiting there.

  2. Cheri, We crossed into Mexico like you! It was weird that Mexico didn’t care who came into their country. We came in and explored, shopped and ate without showing anybody our IDs. Getting back into USA was the opposite!!! 😆
